The project
A leading insurer wanted to attract, retain, and accelerate the development of their graduate talent. Their goal was to create a multi-year early careers programme that would not only support CII qualification, but also build the technical, commercial, and professional skills needed to succeed in a fast-evolving industry.
Our solution
We partnered with them to design and deliver a two-phase early careers journey that combined immersive learning with long-term development support.
We launched the programme with a dynamic three-day, in-person induction that welcomed graduates into both the company and the wider insurance industry. The experience blended:
- Insurance business simulations, activities and experiential workshops that brought technical concepts to life and provided an environment to explore vital interpersonal skills
- Overarching team projects to help encourage networking, encourage collaboration and build a support community amongst the cohort
- Bite-sized sessions delivered by senior leaders and subject-matter experts from the business
- On-demand digital resources to support flexible, personalised learning.
To sustain momentum, we delivered a suite of virtual modules over two years, aligned with graduates’ growing experience and functional rotations. These focused on:
- Building confidence and competence in new roles
- Aligning technical knowledge to support CII studies
- Strengthening professional and commercial skills through real-world practice.
The impact
The programme has given graduates a strong, engaging start to their careers, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and networks to make an immediate impact. By combining immersive onboarding with sustained development, our client has created a powerful early careers experience that positions them as an employer of choice in the insurance sector.
