How our Project Build activity works…
Every team starts with an initial budget deposited into their virtual team account. This seed funding forms the foundation of their strategy and must be managed wisely in order to meet the stockholder’s brief and succeed in the challenge.
To acquire the materials and components needed to build their product, teams must first earn the right to purchase them by taking part in a series of engaging tasks and problem-solving challenges. Each resource carries a cost, meaning teams need to prioritise, strategise, and decide which resources they require and how best to invest their funds.
Teams have the opportunity to pitch their product concept to potential sponsors in order to secure additional funding. However, before pitching they must create a simple brand to enhance their product offering. This phase require teams to demonstrate creativity, persuasive communication, a clear value proposition, and confidence in their design and business model.
In the competitive marketplace phase, teams present their final products and compete to maximise their income. Results are tracked through a central leadership dashboard that reflects performance, profitability, and strategic decision-making.
The activity concludes with a celebration of achievement, learning, and teamwork, ensuring participants leave with a lasting and meaningful experience. This is followed by a ‘Commitments’ session, where teams reflect on key insights and agree on practical actions they will take back into the workplace.
Some clients also choose to connect the final session to a charitable cause, adding a purposeful and socially responsible dimension to the overall team-building experience.
