Asset Managers are responsible for overseeing client portfolios and making strategic investment decisions. Their tasks involve asset allocation, diversification, and maximising portfolio returns by generating trade orders for various asset classes (equities, bonds, currencies).
Traders, upon receiving orders from Asset Managers, analyse market news and select the most competitive bid and offer prices available to execute trades, earning commissions on successful transactions.
Market Makers focus on providing market liquidity. They track market news, monitor competitor activity, and periodically submit two-way quotes to the exchange. Market Makers execute trades with Traders from other teams, capitalising on price movements to generate profits.
